The diseases of addiction and mental health affect the lives of everyone. We either know someone struggling or we ourselves are bound by these health problems.
Our God, in Jesus Christ brought healing to the broken and those in despair. Jesus reached out to the people who were considered outcasts, and told his disciples to do the same. Acknowledging Memorial Lutheran’s Vision Statement: "Believing Christ calls us to serve, Memorial is a beacon of hope in our community and beyond. Welcoming all to come and see and experience love through Christ," Memorial Lutheran of Afton tends to the “least of these”, knowing they are “most of us”.
As an Addiction Friendly congregation: We affirm the sacredness of those who wrestle with addiction and mental illness. With open hearts, we welcome all seeking God’s Love and Grace.
We host a weekly AA Group every Saturday morning and we are committed to being a resource to this community through our addiction and mental health awareness team. Contact Pastor Karen for more information. You can find information about forums and events on our calendar.
