Where do offerings and donations go?
Perhaps the most common question relating to church donations is where that money is spent.
Through offerings and donations we are able to support God’s mission within our congregation, within our local and broader community, and within our world.
While some funds are used to keep the lights on, building maintained, and ensure that we provide a dedicated ministerial staff, we use a large portion of this money to support the various ministries of Memorial (music, quilting, faith formation, caring teams, evangelism, etc.), support those in our community (Valley Outreach, Community Thread, ELCA St. Paul Synod, etc.) and to support the work of God throughout the world (Lutheran World Relief, *global agencies*, etc.).

Donate via Mobile App
With the free Vanco Mobile app, you can manage your giving directly from there–making one time donations, contributing to special projects, or setting up your regular giving, just as you would here on the website or on the kiosk at church. You can also change your giving amounts at your discretion and receive digital confirmation of all payments.

Return the form to Scott in the church office via email (finance@memoriallutheran.org) or mail.
Donate via Bill Pay
Did you know you can contribute offering via your bank’s bill payment services?
You can make all of your donations to Memorial Lutheran this way.
These payments will show up on your giving statements in the same was as in person donations.
This is an easy way to make your Church contributions if you are homebound, elderly, traveling, out of the country, in the military, etc. This is also a very convenient way for all members to make contributions and at no cost in processing fees to the Church.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Contact your bank (either in person or via their website) to set up bill pay services.
2. Follow the instructions below to set up your bill payment:
Payments should be directed to Memorial Lutheran Church of Afton.
During the bill pay set up, your bank will ask for the address and telephone number of the church. Please use the following address for all of the donations:

The bill payment service cannot send your donation to the Church electronically unless the address is correct.
3. Make your contributions.
4. Review your giving statements received from the Church to verify the contributions are recorded accurately.
